My original reply post was a link to Adobe where you might be able to download your program. For the most part the "Geeks" were just trying to get information from you so as to assist in resolving your problem. I do suggest you make a backup image of your system so if something like this ever happens again you just pop in the image disks and in 15-20 minutes you are back in business. At the end of the day you might decide to do a clean install or live with what you have. I don't know how much damage it has or will do to your system as you try removing some of these programs. Then you still have the issue with all the A/V & malware, spyware you have installed on your system. V9.0 is their newest version and you might not be able to find v8. You would have to install v8 first then get the updates to v8.1.5. This means if you install v8.1.5 and had your original licence key it might not accept that key.

I think your original install & licence key was for v8 and Adobe gave a couple of free updates to v8.1.5. From your first post you said the program showed v8 but then in control panel it showed v8.1.5. You might be able to install v8.1.5 but unless you have the licence key I don't think you will have much success.
